Ukraine carried out its first attack on Russian territory using long-range weapons on November 19, the Ministry of Defense reported. ATACMS missiles targeted a military arsenal in the town of Karachev, Bryansk Oblast.

A source from RBC-Ukraine stated that Ukraine used Western-made missiles to strike deep inside Russian territory for the first time. The Z-channel Voenny Osvedomitel ("The Military Informant") confirmed the information, reporting that on the night of November 19, a missile strike warning was issued in Karachev, followed by an explosion. The town houses the 67th Arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate.

Subsequently, the Ministry of Defense announced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) launched six ATACMS missiles at a facility in Bryansk Oblast.

Ukrainian journalist Yuri Butusov wrote that Ukrainian units "struck the arsenal of the 1046th Logistics Center."

Residents of Bryansk Oblast criticized the authorities on social media for failing to warn them about the missile threat or inform them of the need to evacuate, as discovered by 7x7.

"How are civilians supposed to follow necessary safety measures? Administration, hello?! [...] Why weren’t air raid sirens heard throughout the town? When will the authorities take responsibility for the population’s safety during such difficult times?" a local woman wrote.
