On November 17, a court sentenced Anatoly Bannykh, the labor leader at the Ural automobile factory, to 14 days in jail, OVD-Info reported.
Police charged Anatoly Bannykh with reposting Alexey Navalny’s video, Response to General Zolotov, published six years ago. The court found him guilty of displaying symbols of an extremist organization.
Additionally, police filed a report against Bannykh for disobeying their orders, but the court returned the case for further review. The worker began a hunger strike but ended it at the request of the trade union, according to the Telegram channel Chelyabinsk of the Future.
Anatoly Bannykh was detained at his workplace in Miass on November 15. He had planned to participate in a strike scheduled for three days later. The workers’ main demand was to incorporate a motivational bonus into their base salary.
